In the very early days of the Group the cubs went on an annual camp to Brynbach which is near Denbigh in North Wales.
In those days, travelling was not as easy as it is now and the trip to camp involved getting to Birkenhead, catching the train from Woodside station to Chester, changing onto the Chester to Denbigh train, then being taken by lorry from Denbigh station to the campsite. Of course all of the kit required for a week’s camp had to be loaded and unloaded onto the various trains and road transports, which was not an easy task.
However, the cubs enjoyed the whole experience of a busy and interesting camp. A very detailed and illustrated log was written about the camp in 1936 and you can read this account.
