Dan and his contingent have arrived at the WSJ for the Jamboree - I think the opening ceremony is happening now - I'm watching something live on the UK Contingent -website it looks amazing
Having so much fun lately. We went to the opening ceremony yesterday which was so much fun. Most of the time me and the whole of the unit were chanting all the way there and all the way back to camp. But the most important thing is that I am currently up at 5:00 up a massive scaffolding pole trying to get wifi which is pretty cool because I can see the hole of my sub camp from here, but on the other hand me and my friend Frankie thought it was a good idea to go on a run of the hole camp site, but underestimated the size of the camp and had to get the bus neck to camp which took us half and hour!!!!!!!!
Day 2 of HOHO. and it is sadly my last day but I could of asked for a better day, we went to shopping mall in the morning and also had lunch there, which was very kindly provided by the family (noodles and prawns). After lunch we went to a castle with family and saw a couple of the other people from our unit also at the castle, for them it was like a museum, after that we crossed over the road to a small shop where we made a little box which is what they drink out of. The box is made out of wood and and is only small and in the side it a stamp of the castle's name which I can't and never will be able to pronounce. After that we went to a hyper market which was huge. Then we went home because everyone was falling a sleep in the car and had dinner, dinner was really nice because we had a mixture of fish and rice. Tomorrow is when we go on the bullet train😀.
After a really long flight (20 hours) all is well in Japan. I have met my home hospitality partners they are really nice, the parents are quite young and they have a 8 year old son and an 11 year old girl, they bought me a McDonald's for dinner after the flight!!!! Tomorrow we are going to visit their version of a church. Here are some photos of the journey.
Dan and the Merseyside Contingent had a fantastic send off from their families as they met at the Pier Head to then set off to Manchester Airport to begin the long journey to Japan via Abu Dhabi - Twitter has been alive with all the news as the UK Contingents set off from all around the country to meet up again in Japan for the Jamboree.
On Sunday 12th July all the families, friends and Scout Leaders of the Merseyside Jamboree Contingent gathered at Tawd Vale camp site for an official send off as the departure date for Japan draws closer and closer. On display was all the Jamboree kit provided for their trip and the Lord and Lady Mayor of Liverpool and Lady Mayor of Knowsley and the Lord Lieutenant Dame Lorna all wished the contingent well on their amazing journey and trip of a lifetime.
