The AGM - May 2009

The 2009 AGM was held on Saturday 27th June and followed the usual pattern of AGM business then badge presentations and finally food and drink, this time in the form of a BBQ. 

The business part was soon over and after a few words from the guest speaker, DC Ken Jones, the boys and girls were presented with lots of badges and trophies and some new scouts were invested.

The chairman, Ray Dugdale, was presented with a gift to mark his retirement at the end of this year and a surprise appointment of honorary president was conferred on Dave Reed.

After all this hand-clapping and back-slapping, we tucked into the BBQ ably prepared by Rob Noble, Mike Davies and Julie and served by Jayne P, Debbie and Wendy with Jayne B in charge of the bar and Fiona doing a sterling job of washing up.

There were plenty of activities for the children with a bouncy castle, an inflatable assault course and simply chasing around the field. Some of the adults (big kids) also tackled the assault course.
